18-Hole Professional Golf Course and Golf Academy
GORKI Golf & Resort boasts a championship-level 18-hole professional golf course designed by architect Lassi Pekka Tilander. The total playing area covers 72 hectares, guaranteeing scale, a variety of playing situations, and impeccable aesthetics. The GORKI golf course is also a world-renowned example of golf architecture, having won two international awards.
Architectural concept of the course: Art in the style of "Inland Links"
The 72-hectare course was designed by Finnish architect Lassi Pekka Tilander, the first Finnish golf course architect to become a full member of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA). In 2005, he received his professional diploma from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. To date, he has designed more than 20 golf courses in five countries. A passionate admirer of the classic links style, he brought the aesthetics of the Scottish coast to the landscape of the Leningrad region.
-
Difficulty : Par 72.
-
Distance: The total length is 6,505 meters.
-
Topography and maturity: To add expressiveness to the holes, the architect added man-made dune ridges. They look so natural that the relatively recently opened course already possesses the "pleasing maturity" of classic British courses.
-
Playing Philosophy: The design is based on wide fairways and perfectly placed greens. There are no wooded areas to obstruct views; instead, you'll find lush playing corridors and ridges covered in tall grass (rough).
-
Classic Features: The course intrigues experienced players with its "old-school" elements—semi-blind approaches to the holes and bowl-shaped greens. This is a modern, high-quality course that's not intimidating for the novice, but challenging for the expert.
