Maria Verchenova set the Olympic record! On 23rd of August Maria Verchenova, the only representative from Russia in golf, returned back home with an Olympic record! At home "our Masha" was greeted as a winner. You bet! In the fourth day of competition Verchenova was the best golfer on course. She spent 62 hits to play the course (-9 par).

Moreover, Maria reached another unique achievement - Russian athlete made ​​whole-in-one that day! In the final standings Maria Verchenova took 16th place - a promising start for our team in developing kind of sport in Russia, as well as a potent boost for the promotion of golf in our country!
